International Flights Resume In Nigeria As Middle East Airlines Plane Lands At Lagos Airport

International flights has resumed operation in Nigeria after a five-month closure of the Nigerian airspace due to lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.

On Saturday afternoon, September 5, 2020, an aircraft operated by Middle East Airlines (MEA) touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The MEA aircraft which took off from Beirut, Lebanon, landed at the airport at exactly 02:27 pm, with full passengers.

Prior to the arrival of the MEA airline with full passengers, journalists including local and international media with all aviation authorities including families of incoming passengers were on the ground even though under the Covid-19 guidelines to receive their loved ones.

Two other airlines including Delta and British Airways are also expected to begin flight operations at the airport today. The Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, is also expected to reopen for international flights.

KanyiDaily recalls that yesterday the Nigerian Government had released the list of international airlines that would be denied entry into the country.
