A popular hacktivist group, Anonymous, has shutdown the website of First Bank of Nigeria for allegedly freezing the funds that were meant for those protesting against the extrajudicial activities of the now-defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
KanyiDaily had reported that there is an ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country against the SARS tactical unit of the Nigerian Police Force over its brutality, illegal arrest, extortion, extra-judicial killings, among others.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, the hacktivist group accused First Bank of deducting money from accounts of those participation in the #EndSARS protest.
KanyiDaily recalls that Anonymous had also claimed responsibilities for the coordinated attack on nine (9) Nigerian government-owned websites including CBN, INEC, EFCC, NNPC, NCDC, others.
