32 Bethel Baptist High School Students Regains Freedom From Bandits In Kaduna

Another batch of 32 abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State, have regained their freedom, bringing the total of those released to 90.

KanyiDaily had reported how bandits stormed the school in Damishi and abducted 121 students from their dormitories in the early hours of Monday, July 5, 2021.

On July 25, the bandits released 28 of the students after receiving N50 million ransom. They made fresh demand of N80 million ransom to release the remaining 80 students in captivity.

Last Sunday, August 22, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna, Joseph Hayab revealed that the bandits had released 15 of the 80 students that were still in their captivity.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Saturday, August 28, Joseph Hayab confirmed the release of another set of 32 abducted students.

“Yes, 32 of our students were freed on Friday evening. We still have 31 with the captors and we are praying that they too will be released soon,” Hayab said.

KanyiDaily recalls that bandits recently threatened to kill the abducted Zamfara students in a viral video if N350m ransom isn’t paid to them.
