Four Persons Killed, 50 Others Abducted As Gunmen Attack Zamfara Community

Gunmen killed four people and abducted 50 others in Zamfara.

Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed that gunmen killed four people and abducted 50 others in Goran Namaye town in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.

The police spokesman, Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the incident on Monday, said the gunmen “came in large number” when they invaded the community around midnight on Sunday.

Shehu said tactical operatives have been deployed to the community, following a directive by the Zamfara commissioner of police, Yakubu Elkana, who ordered an immediate search and rescue operation for the victims.

The police spokesman added that the command is collaborating with other security agencies to maintain law and order in the area.

KanyiDaily had also reported how gunmen recently killed over 40 villagers in Magami community of Gusau local government area in Zamfara.
