Nigerian Government Increases Treason, Terrorism Charges Against Nnamdi Kanu

Nigerian Government has increased the criminal charges filed against the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Nnamdi Kanu will be re-arraigned on a seven-count charge on October 21, as against the five counts he was previously answering to, bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism.

The IPOB’s lawyer, Maxwell Opara disclosed this during a short interview with journalists on the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.

The Federal Government has filed amended seven counts against Kanu,” Opara said with no details.

The details of the amended charges had yet to be made public to journalists by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) who filed the procedure.

KanyiDaily had reported that Nnamdi Kanu will be re-arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, October 21.
