A Nigerian lady simply identified as Toyosi has been arrested for raising a false alarm on social media, Twitter, that she was being kidnapped amd raped in Lagos State.

Toyosi Arrested For Raising False Twitter Alarm

On Thursday morning, the young lady took to her Twitter page to cry for help that she was being abducted and molested in a house located at Akoka. She further shared the number of her alleged abductor.

Toyosi tweeted, “I’m being Kidnapped guys, I’m being raped. Number 78 Obayan street Pako Akoka Lagos”.

Shortly after her tweet went viral, the police stormed the location only to find out she was lying. This led to the police arresting some occupant of the house address that was retrieved from tracking the number she shared online.

Toyosi shared another post where confirmed that she was entirely okay, admitting that she raised the false alarm purposely.

Her brother and sister in a viral whatsapp conversation corroborated with the video that Toyosi was “chasing clout” with the false alarm without knowing the implications of her action.

The police has been involved in the issue, and the young lady has been arrested and set to be arranged in court for proper legal consequences.

Media personality, Deji Adesogan confirmed the development in a tweet, saying Toyosi would be charged for raising the false alarm and disturbance of public peace.

He wrote, “FINALLY: Lagos State Police Command has reportedly arrested Miss @_misteriouss & set for her arraignment before a Lagos court, for raising the false alarm (of rape & kidnapping) & disturbance of public peace.”

The development comes a few weeks after a Nigerian lady, Dr Chinelo Megafu died of gunshot wounds after she raised an alarm on Twitter that they were being aattacked by bandits on an Abuja-Kaduna train.
