This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 27 by Spokesperson of the command, Catherine Anene.

The victims reported to have been abducted on September 23, 2022, along Ijegwu-Opirikwu road, Odiapa council ward of Obi Local Government Area of the state.

Anene said a team of police officers in collaboration with other security agents were able to rescue the kidnap victims due to pressure mounted on the kidnappers.

The statement read in part, “On 25/09/2022 at about 2230hrs, after serious pressure mounted on the kidnappers, they abandoned the victims and escaped to a nearby forest.

“Victims have been rescued and reunited with their families.”

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, had deployed more tactical teams to the area to checkmate activities of hoodlums and advised that members of the community should volunteer useful information to the police on hoodlums’ operations within the area.

In other news, Kanyi Daily had reported that the Rivers State Police Command rescued 15 kidnapped children in different parts of the state.
