A couple, Asiayei Enaibo and Emily Ekanpou, have performed their traditional marriage rites in the middle of the flood currently ravaging the Akparemogbene community in Delta State.

The couple and their guests took canoes to the platform constructed in the middle of the flooded community for the wedding ceremony held on Thursday in Ayakoromo, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state.

In photos circulating on social media, the couple could be seen smiling in their ceremonial clothes, as they paddle through the flooded streets in canoes.

They performed their traditional rites with only a small number of guests.
