Raheem was killed on Christmas day in the Ajah area of the state.

An Assistant Police Superintendent, ASP, and two other officers have been arrested in Lagos for the killing.

Bolanle was reportedly shot dead in the company of her husband and other family members when they were returning from Christmas Day service on Sunday morning.

Some reports indicated that the police officers attached to the Ajiwe police station in Ajah had allegedly ordered the car conveying them to stop.

The police officers allegedly shot at the car and the bullet hit the lawyer.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Atiku described the shooting of Raheem as “heartbreaking and stands condemned.”

According to him, the latest shooting calls to attention the urgent need for Police reforms that will sanitise the Force and bring it in line with best policing practices.

The former vice president called on the police authorities and the Justice system to expedite action on the matter, as justice delayed is justice denied.

He noted that doing so, it will serve as a deterrent to the incidents of the irresponsible shooting of innocent citizens by law enforcement agents.

He expressed condolences to the deceased family, friends, and the Lagos chapter of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).

Atiku wrote, “The shooting of Bolanle Raheem by a police officer is heartbreaking and stands condemned. This latest shooting calls to attention the urgent need for Police reforms that will sanitise the Force and bring it in line with best policing practices.

“I call on the police authorities and the Justice system to expedite action on the matter, as justice delayed is justice denied. This will serve as a deterrent to the incidents of the irresponsible shooting of innocent citizens by law enforcement agents.

“I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and the Nigeria Bar Association, in particular its Lagos chapter. May her soul rest in peace.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that popular skit maker, Mr. Macaroni had attacked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying insecurity got worse under his administration following the killing of Raheem.
