The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested two suspected bandits for kidnapping and cattle rustling.

Spokesman of the command, SP Mohammed Shehu disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday and posted on the command’s Twitter handle.

Shehu gave the names of the suspects as Umaru Buba ‘M’ 21 years old from Baburasa village in Kainji LGA of Niger State and Babuga Manu ‘M’ 20 years old from the same address.

He said the suspects were arrested by police tactical operatives while on confidence-building patrol acting on intelligence information.

“In the course of interrogation, the suspects confessed to being into kidnapping and cattle rustling in various states such as Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and other States in the North.

“The suspects further confessed to belonging to the gang of Bello Turji where they took part in the kidnapping of an unspecified number of victims in which millions of Naira were collected as ransom,” the statement reads.

In a related development, the police image maker said police tactical operatives have arrested a gang member of bandit Kingpin, Halilu Kachalla who operates in Zamfara and other states

He gave the name of the suspect as Musbahu Aminu’M’ of Yabawa, Maradun LGA.

According to him, the suspect was arrested on 1st January 2023.

The suspect, he noted, confessed to being a gang member of Bandit Kingpin, Halilu Kachalla who operates in Zamfara and other states.

“The suspect further confessed to participating in several kidnappings and cattle rustling where millions of Naira were paid by relations as ransom,” he added.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has approved the appointment and redeployment of new Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, and Commandants of Tri-Service and Nigerian Air Force Institutions among others.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao approved the appointment and redeployment as part of a routine exercise aimed at ensuring operational efficiency and effective service delivery.
