I Never Insulted Seun Kuti – D’banj

D’banj Denies Ever Insulting Seun Kuti

Nigerian singer, D’banj has denied ever insulting his colleague, Seun Kuti.

D’banj Denies Ever Insulting Seun Kuti

D’banj’s denial comes on the heels of the altercation between Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye of P-Square over the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Peter Okoye and his twin brother, Paul are staunch supporters of Obi.

Seun Kuti had in a recent interview, described Peter Obi as an opportunist.

Seun’s comment did not sit well with Peter Okoye, and as a result, they began exchanging words on social media.

Several names, in the cause of the heated exchange of words, were put in the mix, including Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Seun’s nephew, Made Kuti.

In the latest twist, D’banj’s name was mentioned in the rift.

Taking to his official Twitter handle in a swift reaction, D’banj said he never made any negative statement about Seun Kuti.

His statement reads, “This is to notify the general public that I have not made nor can I make any derogatory or disparaging statement against anybody especially not in our industry, nor have I directed the publication of any such material on my behalf. Never!

“For the records, I authored no statement against my brother Seun Kuti, and I am as perplexed as the general public by the publication falsely attributed to me.
In the entertainment industry, we are all one big family.

“We may have different political ideologies and express it in our own ways but the irrefutable truth is that elections will come and go and we will and must remain one big family.

“The general public is thus advised to disregard the mischief of a publication maliciously pushed to drive traffic to gossip blogs and stoke non-existent conflict between my humble self and well-regarded colleagues in the industry. Thank you.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) suffered a devastating blow on Sunday after the governorship candidate of the party in Kano state, Bashir Bashir defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to reports, an associate of Bashir Bashir, who preferred anonymity, the major reason for the defection was the “exclusion of major northern stakeholders in the decision-making process of the party’s campaign”.
