EFCC Arrests 21 ‘Yahoo Boys’, Recovers Six Expensive Benz, Lexus, Toyota Cars, Others

A total of 21 suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” have been arrested by operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benin City, Edo State.

The “Yahoo Boys” were arrested on Tuesday in an early morning operation following actionable intelligence.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the EFCC Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren.

Uwujaren gave the names of the “Yahoo Boys” to include Alakpa Marvelous, Hoghomhen Jude Moses, Christopher Odion, Azanuwna Joseph, Godfirst Christopher, Eghosa Osaretin, Onus Honda, Barnabas Alakpa,  Junior Azanuwna, Ehis Inegbinebor Francis, Godbless Eriugo, Imokhai Dickson, Epama Francis,  Ekuma Austin, and Sunday Stanley.

Others are Kelly Alakpa, Amiole Paul, Iweriebor Raphael, Sunday Christian, Imozemhe Raymond, and Agbonghae Anthony.

The statement reads, “Items recovered from them include two Mercedes Benz, two Lexus ES 350, one Lexus RX 330, and one Toyota Camry, HP Laptops, and mobile phones.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court soon.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that six drug traffickers have been slammed with a total of 156 years imprisonment for offences bordering on drug dealing, transportation, and conspiracy to transport illicit substances filed against them by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
