FG Spends N150m To Hire 40 Buses, Begins Evacuation Of Nigerian Students In Sudan

The Nigerian government has hired a total of 40 luxurious buses to evacuate Nigerian students studying in Sudan from Khartoum, the capital to Cairo, Egypt.

This is just as foreign countries have been rushing and evacuating their nationals from Sudan as the fighting in the country enters its second week.

The fighting is between forces loyal to two rival generals.

Foreigners have for days, been fleeing the capital, Khartoum in a long-United Nations convoy.

The federal government of Nigeria had said it will on Wednesday commence the evacuation of about 5,500 Nigerians, including students stranded in Khartoum and other cities in Sudan.

To match their words with action, the government has released N150m for hiring 40 buses to convey its desperate citizens from the North African country.

In the video that was shared online on Wednesday, some buses arrived and the students are getting ready to be evacuated.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that two ex-convicts were among 48 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” arrested by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
