Hundeyin’s comment comes a day after Peter pleaded with the police force to temper justice with mercy on his colleague Seun Kuti following the latter’s altercation with a policeman last Saturday.
The singer, who is the youngest child of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti while assaulting the officer was heard saying, “You dey crase, you dey mad?”, but the cop kept his cool throughout the whole confrontation.
Alkali Baba equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.
Peter in a now-deleted tweet on his handle, said it was an unfortunate incident, but added, however, that Seun’s action may have been triggered, going by reports which suggest his family may have been in danger hence the altercation.
Taking to his official Twitter handle on Monday, Benjamin Hundeyin praised the Okoyes brother for deleting all his tweets that give tacit support for assault on police officers, stating it is “way to go.”
According to him, no one should condone criminality.
“I commend @PeterPsquare for deleting all his tweets giving tacit support for assault on police officers. Way to go. 👍🏼
“No one should condone criminality,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that Seun Kuti turned himself in, to the police on Monday morning, accompanied by his lawyer and a family representative.
In the latest update on the case, the state police command has refused to grant the bail application of the Afrobeat star.
