“Portable Has Done Many Things For Me, But I’m Not With Him For Money” – Ashabi

Nollywood actress, Akinyanju Omobolarinde, popularly known as Ashabi has opened up about her relationship with controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable.

KanyiDaily recalls that on June 6, 2023, Portable welcomed his fourth child with Ashabi who is now his third baby mama, and they had a naming ceremony on Tuesday, June 13.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Ashabi dismissed claims that she is involved with Portable for his money, emphasizing that she had already achieved financial success in her own right before meeting the singer.

She said, “He (Portable) has done many things for me but what stands out the most is the care and support he gives me. I am not here for the material things.

“I have produced movies and made my millions before meeting him. I have been a self-sponsored student even before I met him. I have been carrying responsibilities way back.”

The actress also debunked a viral claim that they are married, noting that she and Portable have introduced each other to their families and have plans to formalize their union through marriage.

She said, “We have introduced our families and hope to get married soon. I am an entertainer and I have thought about getting married to him properly. I did not get pregnant by mistake. It was planned and I do not expect to have issues with any of his wives or other baby mamas.

“I see some comments that I want to snatch Portable but I am not here to snatch anyone. I am just a shareholder and I cannot take care of him alone because I have my career and child. I also want to work more and be famous.”

Addressing assumptions about Portable’s public persona, Ashabi explained that his on-stage performance should not be used to judge his character because the singer is actually calm and caring in nature.

She said, “One cannot judge his personality from his performance because that is what he does for a living and he has to put in his best and energy.

“As my man, he has always been calm and caring. He is always available when I want to talk to him and he is a great listener. Those are some of the things I like the most about him.”

The actress also spoke about the movies she has produced so far. She said, “I produced my first movie, ‘Ato’ in 2020. I also co-produced another movie with Juwon Ayorinde titled ‘Iyanje’.

“I then produced a movie in 2022, ‘Side Chic’ followed by another one, ‘My Relative’, the same year. I also have a new movie about to drop. It is titled ‘Owo Sina.’”

KanyiDaily recalls that Portable had recently addressed those criticizing him for cheating on his wife with Ashabi, urging them to channel their energy toward offering prayers instead of passing judgment on him.
