VP Kashim Shettima Decorates New Acting IGP, Kayode Egbetokun [Photos]

Vice President, Kashim Shettima has decorated the newly appointed Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, with his new rank.

IGP Egbetokun served as a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) prior to his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu on Monday, June 19, 2023.

He was decorated by Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, in the the presence of former IGP Usman Alkali Baba, as well as the acting IGP’s wife.

Before the decoration, the acting IGP had accompanied Tinubu to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to bid farewell as the President embarked on a trip to Paris, France, to attend a summit on a new global financial pact.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance at the brief decoration ceremony were Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and various family members of the acting IGP, among others.
