BRIT Awards Honours Wizkid For Setting New Record In UK

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Wizkid has made history and received accolades for his remarkable achievements in the music industry.

KanyiDaily recalls that Wizkid recently headlined a groundbreaking show at the Tottenham Stadium in London, becoming the first and only African artist to achieve such a feat.

During the concert over the weekend, the British Phonographic Industry music award body, also known as the Brit Awards, bestowed a prestigious honor upon the Nigerian singer.

Taking to its Twitter page on Monday, July 31, 2023, Brit Awards announced that Wizkid was honored for amassing an astounding one billion streams in the United Kingdom.

The tweet reads, “It’s one billion UK streams for @wizkidayo, who was presented with his BRIT Billion Award while in London for his incredible show at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”

With this achievement, Wizkid has etched his name in the history books once again, solidifying his position as the first Afrobeats and Nigerian artiste to reach such a momentous milestone in the UK music industry.

KanyiDaily had reported how Wizkid allegedly lost his N99 million ring to fans during his sold-out show at Tottenham Stadium in London, United Kingdom.
