A Federal Capital Territory High Court on Friday, dismissed the case against a former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The court described the EFCC’s charges of fraud and abuse of office as an abuse of the judicial process.

The presiding judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, premised his judgement on the fact that the EFCC had filed a similar charge against the former Imo State governor at the Federal high court, which case was decided upon in favour of the former governor in December last year.

This is a developing story. More details shortly.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a 20-year-old woman, Blessing Ben, accused of killing and dumping the body of her newborn in a dustbin.

Blessing was apprehended alongside her boyfriend, Luka Illiyasu, and they are being grilled by the command.
