KanyiDaily recalls that on October 21, 2022, Apostle Suleman was attacked by gunmen who killed seven people including policemen in his convoy along the Benin–Auchi Road in Edo State.
During a press conference today, the Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said the Intelligence Rapid Team successfully arrested Yusuf Ismail Isa after an extensive investigation.
He said, “Following an intensive investigation into the fatal attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Auchi, on October 21, 2022, along with Benin police personnel, who were gruesomely murdered, the operatives of FIB-IRT on Auchi road comprising six people, including three of the assailants, apprehended one Yusuf Ismael Isah ‘m’, a native of Okene, Kogi State and a plumber, at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State and recovered five Ak47 Rifles, two K2 Assault rifles, 180 live ammunition and 4 suspected IEDs were found in his apartment.”
During a subsequent media parade, Yusuf Ismail Isa openly confessed to being one of the seven gunmen involved in the attack on the convoy.
Although he admitted that it was an assassination attempt, he claimed to be unaware of the motive behind the assault.
Isa further disclosed his active participation in the attack, acknowledging that he wielded an AK-47 rifle during the incident.
