Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has become the first African artist to have a number one album in the United Kingdom with “I Told Them.”

Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, “I Told Them,” landed at number one on the UK albums chart this week, according to the Official Charts Company.

The British record chart business gave the ‘African Giant’ singer with a plaque in recognition of his record.

“He told them! @burnaboy makes UK chart HISTORY today as he claims his first Number 1 album,” the company tweeted.

An excited Burna Boy quoted the tweet with the caption, “Let’s Have It! #ITOLDTHEM    #ITOLDTHEMNUMBER1.”

The Port Harcourt-born singer’s last two albums, Twice As Tall and Love Damini, peaked at Number 2 on the UK albums chart before his latest project propelled him to the top.
