Nigerian Grammy-winning Afrobeat star, Burna Boy has stirred up controversy with a cryptic social media post, which many believe was aimed at fellow music icon, Davido.

In an Instagram post, Burna Boy appeared to criticize certain people for allegedly pretending to own luxury properties and high-end items.

The singer wrote, ‘If you ever lied about buying Sujimoto’s house in Banana Island when you only rented it, do better in 2025. 

“If you ever lied about Elele’s house being yours, do better in 2025. 

“If you have an aftermarket ‘rainbow Daytona,’ please stop telling people it’s real. Do better in 2025.”

He added, “It should be a criminal offence to tell as many lies as certain men. The list can go on and on and on.”

The post, which quickly went viral, has been widely interpreted as a subtle dig at Davido.

Burna Boy’s references to Sujimoto’s Banana Island property and a luxury Rolex Daytona watch align with past claims associated with Davido’s lavish lifestyle, fueling the speculation.
