Former pastor of the City of David Parish under the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Idowu Iluyomade, has launched a new church in Lagos.
It was gathered that the new ministry, called Family Fellowship, is located at the Civic Center in Victoria Island, Lagos.
A video circulating online shows Pastor Idowu Iluyomade celebrating and dancing with some members of his congregation at their newly established worship space.
This development follows Iluyomade’s resignation from RCCG after he was suspended by the church’s board last year.
His suspension came amid backlash over his lavish celebration of his wife’s 60th birthday, which many deemed insensitive, as it took place shortly after the death of Herbert Wigwe in a helicopter crash in the United States.
Iluyomade and his wife were disinvited from the Wigwes funeral and thereafter transferred to the RCCG Headquarters in Ebutte Metta to worship but have now opened their own church.
Family Fellowship held its inaugural service on Sunday, January 19, symbolizing the start of a new phase in Pastor Iluyomade’s ministry journey.
