“Akpabio Must Go” – Protest Rocks National Assembly In Support Of Natasha Akpoti [Photos]

Supporters of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan gathered on Wednesday at the National Assembly to protest against the alleged sexual harassment by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Their demonstration coincided with the Senate Ethics Committee, led by Senator Neda Imaseun, preparing to investigate Akpoti-Uduaghan over her alleged failure to follow Senate rules.

As the protest intensified, security forces fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse the crowd. However, the demonstrators regrouped, standing their ground despite the crackdown.

The protesters accused Senator Godswill Akpabio of suppressing women’s voices and called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene.

They emphasized that allegations of sexual misconduct are fundamental human rights concerns that should not be ignored.

The Senate had previously voted unanimously to investigate Akpoti-Uduaghan following a heated exchange in the chamber, leading to the inquiry scheduled for today.
