President Tinubu Signs South-West, South-South Commission Bills Into Law

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the South-West Development Commission Bill, the South-South Development Commission Bill, and the Nigeria Anti-Doping Bill, 2025.

His Special Adviser on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, announced this in a statement, emphasizing that the new laws align with Tinubu’s vision for balanced development, regional empowerment, and Nigeria’s global standing.

According to Lado, the approval of the South-West and South-South Development Commissions highlights Tinubu’s focus on economic growth, infrastructure development, and job creation across the country.

He noted that this move builds on the earlier approval of similar commissions for the South-East and North-Central regions, demonstrating the president’s commitment to nationwide progress.

“By signing into law the establishment of the South-West and South-South Development Commissions, President Tinubu has reaffirmed his role as a transformational leader who prioritizes regional empowerment, economic expansion, and infrastructural excellence.

“Building on the foundation of his earlier assent to the South-East and South-West Development Commissions, it is evident that President Tinubu is deliberate in bringing development across all regions,” he said.

Lado also explained that the newly established commissions will drive industrialization, create employment opportunities, and enhance social development, ensuring that all regions benefit from the administration’s policies.

Regarding the Nigeria Anti-Doping Bill, 2025, Lado stated that its enactment reinforces Nigeria’s dedication to fairness in sports.

“By domesticating the UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sports, his administration has safeguarded the future of Nigerian sports, protecting our athletes from unfair practices while reinforcing our global reputation as a country that upholds integrity,” the presidential aide said.

KanyiDaily recalls that a Nigerian lady recently condemned President Bola Tinubu, calling him greedy, selfish, heartless, and wicked, in a video that has gone viral on social media.
