A two-year-old girl has been rescued by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) after being trafficked from Abuja to Aba in February 2025.

The little girl renamed Chiamaka Favor for protection was rescued by NAPTIP’s Abia State Command on May 8, 2025.
According to a statement by the agency on Friday, May 9, the suspected trafficker was initially arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abia and later handed over to NAPTIP.
The suspect is believed to have collaborated with three different trafficking rings in Abuja and allegedly sold the child for N100,000.
NAPTIP has launched an investigation and is appealing to the public to help locate the child’s real parents or relatives.
“Investigations are ongoing. NAPTIP is calling on the biological parents or any relatives of the child to urgently contact the Agency,” the statement said.
KanyiDaily recalls that a Federal High Court in Osogbo recently sentenced a 27-year-old woman, Ifeoma Sunday, to four months imprisonment for human trafficking in Osun State.
