A video capturing the situation, filmed by an unidentified woman, has sparked public outrage.
In the video, the women can be heard criticizing the exam officials for delaying the process and making the students take the exam in poor lighting conditions.
According to her, the exam was scheduled for 2pm but didn’t begin until 6pm, by which time it was already dark.
With no power supply in the school, a torchlight had to be used to provide minimal lighting inside the exam hall.
“It’s not OK,” the woman said as she compared the situation to her own school days, noting that even when lanterns were widely used, students weren’t subjected to such poor conditions.
The video has since gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation and calls for better exam planning and infrastructure in public schools.
