A magistrate court in the Nomansland area of Kano State has ordered the remand of a TikToker, Umar Hisham Fagge, popularly known as Tsulange, for bathing in public while dressed in women’s underwear.
Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan gave the ruling on Thursday, directing that Tsulange be held in a correctional facility until July 3, 2025, pending the outcome of further investigations.
The case was brought before the court by the Kano State Film Censorship Board after a viral video showed Tsulange pretending to bathe on a public street, wearing female underwear.
The board described the act as “immoral and against the values of the society and teachings of Islam.”
In a statement released Friday, the board’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, described the video as “misleading and inappropriate,” especially for young viewers on social media.
“The board will continue to take actions against any individual or group spreading indecent content online under the guise of entertainment,” the statement added.
KanyiDaily recalls that a magistrate court in Kano also sentenced popular TikTok creator Abubakar Usman, better known as Kilina, to one year in prison over his cross-dressing content.
