“Nigeria Is Proud Of The Way President Bola Tinubu Was Buried” — Godswill Akpabio [Video]

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio made a slip during a speech on Wednesday while applauding President Bola Tinubu’s efforts in organizing the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

KanyiDaily recalls that the late President Muhammadu Buhari died in London on July 13. His body was flown back to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, where he was buried on July 15.

President Tinubu led a federal delegation to receive Buhari’s remains at the airport and was present at the official state burial.

While speaking on the Senate floor on Wednesday, Akpabio mistakenly said that “Tinubu was honored and buried,” instead of Buhari.

He said, “The whole country is very proud of what this administration has done in the way and manner President Bola Tinubu was honoured and was buried. President Buhari was honoured and buried rather.”

“Distinguish Senator Ningi, you also observed that President Bola Tinubu will not be forgotten for what he did during the burial ceremony of Buhari.”

Akpabio added that the Senate would ensure official records reflect Tinubu’s role in giving Buhari a proper farewell.

In the Senate, we are also determined to ensure that in our books, the records say he should also have this valedictory, despite all said and done,” he said.

KanyiDaily recalls that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) recently accused President Bola Tinubu of using the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari to improve his public image.
