Those affected are Alfred Berger, who represents Makurdi North; Terna Shimawua of Kian; Cyril Ekong of Obi; and James Umoru, representing Apa constituency.
Their suspension came after a motion was raised during Thursday night’s sitting by the Majority Leader, Saater Tiseer.
He argued that the lawmakers had attempted to destabilize the Assembly by pushing for what he described as an unnecessary impeachment crisis.
After the motion was adopted, Speaker Dajoh ordered the Sergeant-at-Arms to escort the four suspended members out of the chamber.
Dajoh also announced a minor leadership change, naming Audu Elias as the new spokesperson of the Assembly. Elias replaces Alfred Berger, who previously held the role before his suspension.
This comes a few weeks after the Benue House of Assembly suspended five of its members for allegedly tampering with a report involving the Chairman of Otukpo Local Government, Maxwell Ogiri.
