Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Aondona Dajoh, has announced the death of his elder brother, Gwamile Dajoh.

Speaking from his home in Makurdi on Monday, Dajoh acknowledged the loss but said he remains grateful to God despite the tragedy.
The news has drawn a stream of visitors, including political allies, friends, and associates, who have been trooping to his residence to offer their condolences.
The sad development comes barely a day after Aondona Dajoh resigned as Speaker, which cleared the way for Alfred Berger to emerge as his successor.
Reports circulating on Monday suggested that Gwamile passed away shortly after collapsing, only a few hours after learning of his brother’s resignation.
While full details remain uncertain, family members revealed that he had been troubled by the political unrest that has gripped the state assembly in recent weeks.
The incident has plunged the Dajoh family into mourning and added further tension to the already unsettled political climate in Benue.
KanyiDaily recalls that Benue State House of Assembly previously suspended four lawmakers for six months over an alleged plot to remove the Speaker, Aondona Dajoh.
