Nigerian celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, is gearing up for another historic feat as she prepares to cook the largest pot of jollof rice.

A viral video shows Hilda Baci cooking a trial batch of the popular dish in a specially designed giant pot, surrounded by assistants and excited onlookers.
The test run is part of her preparation to break the Guinness World Record for the largest pot of jollof rice.
The official attempt is scheduled for September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos, during the Gino World Jollof Festival, a cultural event celebrating West African cuisine, music, and lifestyle.
Organizers have announced that attendance will be free, with live musical performances lined up for guests.
Baci, who rose to global fame after setting the 2023 Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, says this challenge is about more than just breaking a record.
In an Instagram post, she teased the massive project, saying, “Six metres wide. Six metres tall. On September 12, we make history together. Because what is jollof without you to share it with?”
