In a statement on Tuesday, PSG confirmed the signing, revealing that the 25-year-old striker has penned a contract that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2027.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has joined the club on a deal that runs until 30th June 2027,” PSG wrote.
Speaking on the deal, Rasheedat Ajibade said, “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe.
“This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
Ajibade arrives in Paris after four-and-a-half successful years in Spain with Atlético Madrid Femenino, where she scored 40 goals in 139 appearances.
During her time with the Red and White, she won the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the 2023 Copa de la Reina.
In the just-concluded 2024/25 season, Rasheedat Ajibade registered eight goals and three assists in 25 games.
Before moving to Spain in 2021, the forward played for Norwegian side Avaldsnes IL, having started her career at FC Robo Queens in Lagos.
Her switch to PSG comes only weeks after she led Nigeria’s Super Falcons to a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title.
She was also voted Player of the Tournament after guiding the team to glory for the second time in her career.
Born in Mushin, Lagos, on December 8, 1999, Ajibade has represented Nigeria at several major tournaments.
She featured at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where Nigeria reached the round of 16, and also played at the women’s football event of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
