King Charles Strips His Brother Andrew Of ‘Prince’ Title, Evicts Him From Royal Home

King Charles has stripped his brother, Prince Andrew, of all remaining royal titles and ordered him to leave the royal estate in Windsor.

This is coming following growing pressure over Andrew’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a statement released on Thursday, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King had “initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew”.

The 65-year-old will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, losing the title of “prince” that he has held since birth.

He will also be required to vacate the Royal Lodge, his Windsor residence, and relocate to a private home.

The decision marks one of the rarest disciplinary actions in modern royal history. The last time a member of the British royal family lost their princely title was in 1919, when Prince Ernest Augustus was stripped of his titles for supporting Germany during World War I.

Pressure had been building on King Charles to act, particularly after Prince Andrew gave up the title Duke of York earlier this month.

The move came amid new details about his friendship with Epstein and renewed sexual abuse claims made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims, whose memoir was released posthumously last week.

By removing his brother’s titles, the King signaled a firm response to what the palace described as “serious lapses in judgment.”

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” the palace said.

“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

Giuffre’s brother, Skye Roberts, praised the move, saying his late sister’s determination had achieved justice.

“Today, an ordinary American girl from an ordinary American family, brought down a British prince with her truth and extraordinary courage,” he said in a statement.

The latest controversy erupted earlier this month when leaked emails revealed that Andrew had remained in contact with Epstein longer than he previously admitted.

This was soon followed by the release of Nobody’s Girl, Giuffre’s memoir, which detailed three alleged sexual encounters with Andrew when she was 17. She wrote that Andrew acted as though “having sex with me was his birthright.”

Andrew, now 65, has repeatedly denied the allegations, but his reputation suffered greatly after a disastrous BBC interview in 2019, in which he tried to defend himself.

He later stepped back from royal duties and, in 2022, paid millions in a settlement to Giuffre in a U.S. civil case.

While he did not admit wrongdoing, Andrew acknowledged her pain as a victim of sex trafficking.

With the King’s decision, Andrew loses all royal titles, including His Royal Highness, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, and Baron Killyleagh, as well as honors such as the Order of the Garter and the Royal Victorian Order.

He is expected to move into a smaller residence on King Charles’s Sandringham Estate and will receive private financial support from the monarch.

KanyiDaily had previously reported how Prince Andrew agreed to give up his royal titles, including Duke of York, after discussions with King Charles.
