Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has suggested he might step down from his role after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Eric Chelle spoke following Nigeria’s 4-2 loss to Morocco in Wednesday’s semi-final.
Speculation over the 48-year-old’s future with the national team had been circulating even before the tournament began.
When asked about his plans, Chelle said his attention was on the third-place match against Egypt on Saturday.
“For now, I am still the coach of the Super Eagles. I have a game against Egypt and I want to win,” he said.
Chelle was also asked about the decision to start Raphael Onyedika in place of suspended captain Wilfred Ndidi.
He responded: “This is not a question about one player, it’s about the group.”
