Nigerian skit maker Carter Efe is facing heavy backlash online after both he and his baby mama, Emmanuella, shared opposing versions of what led to their failed relationship.

KanyiDaily recalls that the controversy began when Carter Efe announced on social media that he and Emmanuella had been separated for over a year.

Efe, who also claimed he was denied access to his daughter for the past three months, described that period as one of emotional stress, financial struggles, and stalled creativity.

According to him, Emmanuella blocked him for about five months and only reconnected after he gained attention as a Twitch streamer, especially following collaborations with foreign creators like American rapper and streamer DDG.

The media personality also alleged that the situation led to public backlash against him, including accusations of domestic violence that damaged his reputation.

Reacting in a video shared on her Instagram page, Emmanuella denied his claims and accused Carter of being controlling, saying he stopped her from working and from pursuing her dream of becoming an actress.

She also alleged that he isolated her by blocking her female friends and limiting contact with her family, stressing that Carter even threatened to take away her social media presence, which she said he claimed to own.

Emmanuella said she was shocked by Carter’s public statements, especially because they had been together just three days before his posts.

She also rejected claims that she was a prostitute and alleged that Efe Carter did not support their child financially unless she specifically asked.

The mother of one wrote: “Honestly I never knew there would be a day like this, sitting in front of camera to talk about my private life?? It’s well sadly this is my reality.

“I have seen everything Carter posted about us however the way he posted it was weird because we were literally together 3 days ago and we had x , we have a baby together and for you to Cater for your child I will have to come to you before you can give me money even though we aren’t together anymore like you claim

“You stopped me from working, I’ve always wanted to be become an actress but Carter doesn’t want that, I had to kill that dream, I can’t even work at the hospital because he said I would sleep with the doctors at the hospital, this same person blocked all my female friends because he knows I would confide in them, going ahead to post a video of my female friends brother is crazy, if people try to contact me he blocks it, he made sure I kept my family away.

“Honestly when I saw his post about me I was shocked because he called me this morning and told me he was about to post something calling me a prostitute and that he would make sure I don’t ever post myself ever again since he was the one that gave me the platform he would also take the platform from me, God knows everything”.

In a follow-up post shared on January 12, 2025, Emmanuella made more serious allegations, claiming that Carter physically abused her during her pregnancy.

The mother of one said she was repeatedly beaten and often ended up at Cedacare Hospital, where staff allegedly became familiar with her situation.

According to her, she was sometimes thrown out of the house after being assaulted and frequently visited the hospital alone.

Cater Efe’s baby mama added that nurses once noticed bruises on her body and questioned her about them, but she pretended not to know how they happened.

She said, “My pregnancy journey was hell, Carter would hit me regardless of my condition, which made me a regular customer at Cedacare hospital, every staff there knew me to the point that immediately I step my foot in there, they already knew why i came, he would hit me and throw out of the house.

‘The nurses would ask me why i was always at the hospital alone with no one to help me, but I would always lie because they all knew me. One of the days I was admitted this particular noticed some bruises on my hand and asked but guess what I acted like I didn’t what it was. God knows all🤍.”
