Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has reacted to a recent outburst against him by teammate Victor Osimhen.

Ademola Lookman played down Osimhen’s angry reaction toward some teammates during Nigeria’s match against Mozambique, saying it was nothing more than emotions in football.
Nigeria beat Mozambique 4–0 in their second game of the 2025 AFCON on Monday.
Victor Osimhen scored twice, while Lookman and Akor Adams added a goal each to send the Super Eagles into the quarter-finals.
Despite the big win, there was a tense moment in the second half.
Osimhen suddenly flared up at Lookman for reasons that are still unclear, and teammates quickly stepped in to calm him down.
The Galatasaray forward asked to be taken off and the request was granted. He was substituted for Moses Simon.
After the match, Ademola Lookman was asked about the confrontation and said it was not a big issue.
He said Victor Osimhen is still the team’s main man and someone he considers a brother.
“I have not seen Osimhen but I don’t think that matters, Vic is our number one guy, everybody knows this, he’s a top striker. So, all of that doesn’t matter.
“It’s just football. It’s always football. He (Victor Osimhen) is my brother,” Lookman said.
Nigeria will play either Algeria or DR Congo in the quarter-finals on January 10.
KanyiDaily recalls that Victor Osimhen dropped his accreditation and threatened to quit Nigeria’s AFCON squad entirely after his bust-up with Ademola Lookman on the pitch.
