Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant on New Media to the President, has come under heavy fire for sharing an image created using artificial intelligence (AI).

Dada Olusegun had shared a fake AI image of President Bola Tinubu with Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
Reports had suggested that Tinubu met Kagame in Paris on Sunday, January 5, 2026.
The images posted on Tinubu’s X page carried a “Grok” watermark, indicating they were generated with AI.
It is still not clear why an AI-created picture was used to represent the meeting.
Grok is an AI chatbot built by xAI, Elon Musk’s company, and it can produce images, answer questions, and search for information in real time.
Tinubu wrote on X that he had a private lunch with Kagame to discuss global issues and Africa’s future.
“This afternoon, I had a private lunch with H. E. President Paul Kagame of Rwanda to discuss the current state of world affairs and advancing Africa in an ever-changing global landscape,” the president wrote on X.
The same AI image was also shared by Dada Olusegun,
The post drew criticism from several users online, who questioned why an AI image was used instead of an authentic photo and challenged the presidential aide over the decision.
“Mr Dada Olusegun why are you using grok to generate a picture of was supposed to have happened? Is it incompetence or you are trying to tell us something,” a X user asked Olusegun.
