Combs, who is serving a four‑year federal prison sentence for prostitution‑related offenses, asked Trump for clemency.
In an interview with The New York Times, Trump confirmed the request but said he does not intend to grant it.
According to him, Diddy sent him a letter seeking a pardon, but he is unlikely to approve it.
He also said he does not plan to pardon other well‑known figures, including former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
Combs, 56, was convicted last year on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
A jury cleared him of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Last November, Trump granted clemency to former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández, who was serving a 45‑year sentence for drug offenses.
Trump also said he won’t pardon former crypto executive Sam Bankman‑Fried, who is serving a 25‑year sentence, or former Democratic senator Robert Menendez, who received an 11‑year sentence for bribery.
During the same interview, Trump noted he has not been asked about pardoning Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in George Floyd’s death.
On the day of his most recent inauguration, Trump issued more than 1,500 pardons for people convicted or charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol and has granted other clemencies since then.
KanyiDaily recalls that President Donald Trump granted pardons to rappers, Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, during the final day of his first tenure in 2021.
