Laura Ikeji Raises Concern Over Rising Cost Of Renting Business Shops In Lagos [Video]

Beauty entrepreneur Laura Ikeji Kanu has spoken out about the high cost of renting business spaces in Lagos, saying it is putting serious pressure on small and medium-sized businesses across the state.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Laura Ikeji said the government should step in to address the situation.

According to her, if authorities cannot control the increasing shop rents, they should consider offering financial support to business owners who are struggling to survive.

She noted that many businesses are already closing down because they can no longer afford the high rental fees.

Laura disclosed that she now pays N50 million per year for two shops.

The businesswoman explained that the properties were originally rented for N3 million and N4 million, but the amounts have risen drastically to N16 million and N30 million.

She said this sharp increase reflects what many entrepreneurs in Lagos are currently facing.

Several of her followers also reacted in the comment section, sharing their own experiences and how the rising cost of shop rents is affecting their businesses.
