Bashir Ahmad Calls For Alex Babir’s Arrest After Criticizing Tinubu Over Plateau Attack

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has urged Nigerian security agencies to investigate and arrest a US-based missionary, Alex Babir.

His reaction followed a video shared by Alex Babir, where he criticised President Bola Tinubu over the recent killings in Plateau State.

KanyiDaily had reported how gunmen attacked and killed over 10 people in the Anguwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area on Sunday, March 29.

In the video, Babir accused the Nigerian government of failing to stop the killing of Christians and address the ongoing insecurity in the country.

Responding to this, Ahmad claimed that Babir had been moving around freely while making statements he described as divisive and capable of causing unrest among Nigerians.

He called on the relevant authorities to act quickly, urging them to investigate the missionary’s activities and take necessary legal steps to prevent any threat to peace and public order.

Ahmad also questioned why Nigerians are sometimes held accountable for comments about other countries, while, according to him, a foreigner is allowed to make such statements within Nigeria without consequences.

He further suggested that authorities should caution Babir and, if needed, detain and deport him to maintain stability in the country.

Ahmad warned that if the country were to face serious unrest, Babir would still have another country to return to, while Nigerians would be left to deal with the situation.

He wrote, “This is a strong call on the relevant authorities to urgently look into the activities of this young foreigner, Alex Barbir, who has been moving around openly, spreading hate and attempting to incite violence against Nigerians of diverse backgrounds. The authorities should take swift and lawful steps to investigate, apprehend, where necessary and ensure accountability to safeguard peace, unity and public order.

‘Now, it is unjustifiable to arrest Nigerians for expressing their views or opinions about other countries, while at the same time allowing a foreigner to operate freely within our borders, publicly spreading hatred and attempting to incite violence. The relevant authorities should take immediate steps to caution Alex Babir and, if necessary, apprehend him, then send him back to his country in the interest of maintaining peace and order.

“If Nigeria were to descend into chaos today, as this agent of destruction, Alex Babir, has been pushing for, he would still have his own country to return to. You, however, would be left to face the consequences here. Be wise!

KanyiDaily recalls that Bashir Ahmad recently expressed his displeasure with music star, Davido’s approval of visuals to singer, Logos Olori’s new single “Jaye Lo”.
