Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After He Was Allegedly Shot In Ogun

Nigerian comedian Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, is reportedly receiving treatment in hospital after he was allegedly shot in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

According to Punch, sources said that the incident happened on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge.

Details about how the shooting occurred are still unclear.

A police source said the comedian suffered the gunshot wound while filming a comedy skit at the location.

The source said members of his team quickly took him to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos, where doctors provided immediate medical attention.

“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury.

“We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source said.

Medical workers at the hospital reportedly treated him with first aid after he arrived.

It was gathered that Bridal Shaggi was later transferred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, where he is said to be recovering.

Attempts to reach both hospitals for confirmation were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

When contacted on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police were informed about the situation by the hospital.

“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility.

“Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy.

“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the case had not been officially reported to the police in the state, even though it was said to have happened in Ogun State.

“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” he said.

Efforts to get a response from Broda Shaggi’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, also known as Penzaar, were unsuccessful.
