The incident reportedly happened in the early hours of Easter Sunday during a party held at the school hall in Kontagora Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the event was organised by students to welcome newly admitted students of the institution.
According to reports, trouble started after a disagreement broke out between Musa, who is from the Angwan-Gwari area of Kontagora, and Simon, a student of the school.
The argument later turned violent, and Musa allegedly stabbed Simon with a dagger during the fight.
The victim was quickly taken to the General Hospital in Kontagora, where doctors later confirmed him dead.
Confirming the incident, Niger State Police Command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, said Musa was immediately arrested and taken into custody for further investigation.
“On 5/4/2026 at about 1.40 am, it was reported at A Div Kontangora that during a party organised by the students for the newly admitted students at FUE kgora in the school hall.
“There was a misunderstanding between one Jafar Musa, 18 years of Angwan-Gwari area of Kontangora, and one Seyi Simon, 25 years, a student of the school.
“In the course of the fight, Jafar Musa stabbed the student with a dagger. The victim was rushed to the general hospital in Kontangora, where he was confirmed dead.
“The suspect was arrested for further investigation,” Abiodun said.
