Cristiano Ronaldo Confirms Marriage To Long-time Girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez in a private ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
The wedding marks the end of their nearly 10-year relationship and took place after widespread speculation in Portugal about where and when the couple would exchange vows.
Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing a picture of his and Rodriguez’s hands showing their wedding rings.
He captioned the post, “C ❤️ G.”
The couple’s five children were present at the private wedding, according to their public relations representatives.
The marriage came exactly a year after Georgina Rodriguez, 32, announced their engagement on Instagram.
Ronaldo is currently playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
The Portugal captain previously enjoyed successful spells with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus and has won the Ballon d’Or five times.
Rodriguez has also gained international fame through her Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, which gives viewers an insight into her family life, fashion interests, travels and relationship with the football star.
Before the wedding, Portuguese media reports suggested the ceremony could take place in either Sintra, near Lisbon, or Funchal in Madeira, where Ronaldo was born.
Speculation that the wedding would be held in Funchal even attracted hundreds of people to the city’s cathedral hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple.
However, the cathedral confirmed that no wedding ceremony for Ronaldo had been scheduled, although it said it would have been honoured to host the event.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez eventually chose Cascais, a luxury coastal town around 30 kilometres west of Lisbon. The couple owns a villa in the area.
The pair first met in 2016 while Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid.
Rodriguez has previously described their first meeting as “love at first sight.”
Speaking to Vogue Arabia in 2025, she recalled feeling an immediate connection with Ronaldo, saying she experienced a strong sense of peace and familiarity whenever they were together.
Over the years, Ronaldo and Rodriguez have become one of the world’s most famous celebrity couples.
Their combined social media following has grown to more than 750 million people, taking their influence well beyond the world of football.
The couple also has business interests in areas including fashion and hospitality, with investments in clothing brands and hotels.
