Judy, who is now married to fellow actor Yul Edochie, filed a Writ of Summons at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Judicial Division.
The actress is seeking N1 billion in general damages from Emmanuel Obasi over the alleged defamation.
She shared details of the court case on social media on Monday with the caption, “Enough is Enough.”
According to the court documents, Judy is asking the court to order Obasi to publish a full and unconditional retraction and apology in at least two widely circulated national newspapers. She also wants him to publish the apology on his social media platforms.
She is further asking the court to stop Obasi and anyone acting on his behalf from making or sharing any further statements she considers defamatory.
Judy Austin has also requested that all alleged defamatory posts already published by him be removed.
She is seeking several financial awards as part of the case. These include N100 million to cover the cost of prosecuting the suit, N500 million in aggravated damages over previous alleged defamatory statements, and another N500 million in exemplary damages.
The actress is also asking for an additional N100 million as legal costs for the current action.
Judy Austin was previously married to Emmanuel Obasi before their relationship ended. She later married Yul Edochie.
