Liverpool Pushing To Sign Senegalese Winger Ibrahim Mbaye From PSG

Liverpool are stepping up their efforts to sign young Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window.

According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, the Premier League champions are preparing to open talks with PSG, who are reportedly willing to let the 18-year-old leave.

German club Bayer Leverkusen are also in the race for Mbaye. Although they were close to completing a deal, the teenager is now said to prefer a move to Anfield.

RB Leipzig had also shown strong interest, but their move fell through after PSG ended negotiations involving Yan Diomande.

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the promising winger.

Ibrahim Mbaye joined PSG’s academy from French club Versailles when he was just 10 years old.

After rising through the youth system, he made his breakthrough into the senior team during the 2024/25 season.

Since then, he has featured in 42 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals and registering four assists.

On the international stage, Ibrahim Mbaye made his debut for Senegal in 2025.

He became the country’s youngest scorer at the Africa Cup of Nations and also set the record as the youngest African player to score in FIFA World Cup history.

The youngster mainly plays on the right wing but is also comfortable on the left.

He is known for his speed, dribbling ability, intelligent movement, calm finishing and tireless work rate.

With limited opportunities in PSG’s first team, Mbaye is believed to be ready for a new challenge this summer.

Liverpool see him as a strong option to strengthen the right wing following the departure of Mohamed Salah.

At the same time, Andoni Iraola’s team continue to monitor PSG forward Bradley Barcola, although both clubs still need to agree on a transfer fee before any move can go ahead.
