2023: Wike Destroying PDP With His Outburst Against Atiku, Ayu – Fani Kayode

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has revealed how Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, is destroying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with his outburst against the leadership of the party.

The PDP has been embroiled in crisis since the conclusion of its presidential primaries in May after Wike lost to the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and subsequent picking of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate.

Wike and his allies has given the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu,  as one of the conditions that must be fulfilled to resolve the crisis rocking the party.

The ‘Ayu must go’ call championed by Wike is based on allegation of Northern dominance in top positions of the party with the presidential candidate, national chairman, chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum all coming from the North.

But Ayu has refused to resign, saying those calling for his resignation are ‘children’ who were nowhere to be found when they struggled to form the party.

During a media chat with journalists in Port Harcourt on Friday, Wike made some revelations about Atiku and Ayu, while insistint he won’t back down on his demand.

Reacting on his Twitter page, Fani-Koyode alleged that Wike has destroyed the PDP with his outburst against Atiku and Ayu.

The former minister said the PDP crisis would pave way for the presidential candidate of the All Pregressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, to win the 2023 general election.

“Wike has destroyed PDP. He said Atiku is dishonest, unreliable, untrustworthy, and deceitful. He said Ayu is a corrupt, arrogant, racist, power-hungry, anti-southern bigot.

“He said PDP wants to turn Southerners into slaves. He has smashed their balls. ABAT is our next President,” Fani Kayode wrote.
