Reps Member, Chinyere Igwe Caught With $500,000 Cash Allegedly Given By Atiku For Vote Buying
A member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe has reportedly been arrested with $500,000 cash for alleged vote buying during the 2023 general elections.
Igwe, a serving member who represents Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, was reportedly arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in Port Harcourt.
According to reports, Igwe claimed that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, gave him the $500,000 to ensure his electoral success in Rivers state.
It was gathered that the police officers who arrested the lawmaker also recovered the sharing formula from his document, which they planned to the security and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
