I Would Get Married Early And My Marriage Will Be Secret – Joeboy

Nigerian singer Joeboy said he would prefer to get married at a young age and raise a family away from public attention.

The 29-year-old singer, whose real name is Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus, shared his views on marriage during an interview on the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast hosted by British media personality Madame Joyce.

Joeboy said his thoughts on early marriage were influenced by a recent interview with Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson.

According to him, Egbuson expressed regret about not getting married earlier despite his image as a ladies’ man.

He said, “I saw an interview of Timini. He’s like the ideal playboy; almost all the girls claim to love him, and he was like, he wished he got married early.

” I was like, if you’re a playboy and you can say this, that means marrying early might actually be nice.”

Joeboy explained that while age can play a role in deciding when to marry, the most important things are finding the right person and having genuine love for each other.

“Marrying early to someone who you genuinely love is going to be cute,” he added.

“Being 40 and having a 16-year-old kid is cute. But marriage is not really about whenever it feels cool. If it just feels right to you and you love the person, do it.”

Joeboy also revealed that he would prefer to keep his personal life private if he eventually gets married.

He said he could marry without telling the public and only allow people to discover that he has a family years later.

“Personally, I would rather get married early. But if I get married right now, nobody is going to know.

“Maybe when I have like three kids, people will now find out that Joeboy has a whole family somewhere,” he said.
