Kidnapped Wife Of Osun State Speaker Released

We told you HERE on Wednesday that the wife of Osun state House of Assembly Speaker was kidnapped at Ejigbo Osun, on her way back from the market where she sells bags of foodstuffs.

The woman was rescued  this evening around 5:30pm by members of the Ogun State Vigilante Service and two of her kidnappers were killed in the operation which took place around Ogunmakin on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State….continue reading

The vigilance group, established by the Ogun State Government, reportedly worked on a tip-off by residents of the area.

The kidnappers, realising that their hideout was exposed, tried to escape with their victim. They were engaged in a shoot-out by the Ogun vigilante, which led to the death of two of the kidnappers and arrest of three others.

The victim and the arrested kidnappers are now in the custody of the Ogun police after they were handed over by the vigilante.

When contacted, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, said he was on his way to the Eleweran Police Headquarters in Ogun over the matter.

“Please, I’m on my way to the police headquarters over the matter. I will get back to you later,” Okoye said on phone.
