Governor Fayemi Says Nigeria Will Be Out Of Poverty In 2030, It’s Just 11 Years Away

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi believes that Nigeria can eradicate poverty in 2030 if the country diligently implements the policies of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

Fayemi, who made this comment through his Chief of Staff (CoS), Biodun Omoleye, during an event commemorating the 2019 international youth day, said his state will continue to support the SDG vision of making sure that poverty is eradicated across the developing nations, especially Nigeria, in 2030. He said:

:“The essence of the SDGs is to eradicate poverty globally and make the world a better place to live for everyone by 2030.

“Throughout the world, there is a new order that recognises the skills of young people, a new order that believes society must be devoid of poverty and diseases, a new order that believes people must live well, a world free of pollution and how do we get there?”

The governor noted that the world is constantly becoming aware of the relevance of youths in each society, and any order that fails to empower the youths with leadership is bound to fail.

He also advised youths to always show their capabilities and abilities, Fayemi added:

“So, let your impacts be felt in your respective communities, because development starts from the grassroots.

“The SDGs goal is to eradicate poverty before 2030, this can be attained with partnerships among relevant stakeholders.”
